Tainted Reality

Tainted Reality is an organization run by Roger Schackelford to create "opportunities for people to experience J-Rock ''(Japanese rock music)'' in the US."〔(JRockeventsusa.com ) ''Interview ~ Roger (Tainted Reality): September 1, 2007'' Retrieved Mar 20, 2010〕 Tainted Reality began as a college radio show on the station WIXQ, but now the organization has an internet radio website and organizes tours for Japanese bands.
==Radio==

The idea of Tainted Reality started on the college radio show Bad Transition, which was a heavy metal and Japanese rock show which broadcast on college radio 91.7 WIXQ FM.〔 After disagreement on the direction of the show, Roger left and started a new show on the same station〔 to focus on rock and gothic music. Tainted Reality first aired in September 2005 with co-host Charles Buckner, and occasional guest host Craig Keristia (who also replaced Roger on Bad Transitions). Eventually, Japanese rock became the main focus of the show.
In October 2006 the show switched over to an almost entirely request based format. They have an AOL Instant Messenger screen name so fans can chat with the DJ during the show.
In May 2007, Roger Schackelford left college radio and in June that same year, started his own internet radio station. The station was broadcast from the organization's website, and aired a variety of Japanese rock formatted shows, with ''Tainted Reality'' airing on Thursday nights. ''Tainted Reality'' has since spawned two spin-off shows. ''Tainted Reality Talk show'', a talk show that covers a variety of topics, and ''TR: Incognito'', a show dedicated to underground Japanese rock generally unknown by the American fan base.
As of April 2011, Tainted Reality has currently suspended its radio show indefinitely for multiple reasons.
Their first interview came in October 2005, with the visual kei band Suicide Ali. More interviews followed including author Josephone Yun, Coaltar of the Deepers, Aya of Psycho le Cemu, D’espairsRay, Mucc, Yoshiki, Dir en grey, Nana Kitade and Miyavi.
